Brains
Drew Ceccato - tenor saxophone
Chris Golinski - drum set
Consisting of a left half known as Drew Ceccato (winds) and right half that answers to Chris Golinski (percussion), Brains plays improvised music meant to stir aggressive thought and produce anything but indifferent emotional responses. Their music comes in waves of energetic output that cohesively guide a daring listener through a multitude of different sonic spacescapes. Encompassing influences from both modern improvisational music to throw-back 70’s free-jazz, these two musical astronauts have a lot to say.
Brains is good, Brains is bad, Brains is something we all have.
Brian Pear
Drew Ceccato - EVI wind synth
Evan Adams - analog modular synth
Carson Whitley - diffusion/visuals
Brian Pear seeks to seamlessly navigate the compositional gap between both predetermined and improvisational elements as well as traditional and modern electronic music techniques. By embracing a methodically spontaneous relationship between different musical and visual aspects, the overall experience created allows for the flexibility of a score with the breath of an improvisation. In addition, the aggressive encompassment of early analog synthesis techniques coupled with modern signal processing makes for a performance both rooted in the origins of electronic music while actively pursuing new pathways for multi-media expression.
